Oh dear. It's been over a year since my last post. I really am a slack bastard.

Anyway my stay in Hawkes Bay was short.. only a year.. and now we are in Australia. Unison turned out to be a bit of a hospital pass. I turned up just as things started going pear-shaped and watched as the IT Manager got hung out to dry. I'm so glad to be rid of that place.

Sydney is treating us well. The weather is fantastic and we are really enjoying exploring the city. Being 15 minutes by train from Cronulla is great. We spent today there playing at the beach.

Hopefully I will manage to post stuff a bit more frequently.

The kids are getting more grown up every day. Here's the two little monkeys.

Well I finally got around to adding something to my blog. Damn, i'm crap.

Anyway a lot has happened since my last blog entry.

I now have a new son, Ben, who was born on April 20th. He was 10lbs at birth!

We have also moved to Hawkes Bay where i have a new job as the Business Solutions Manager for Unison, the electricity lines company.

We also have a new house. It's semi-rural with a quarter acre section. We move in on Nov 18th.

Other than that life has been cruising along. :)

Damn Banks
Well some intersting fun with our mortgage. Seems our security has disappeared a while back but noone noticed! We are now having to go through the rigmarole of getting our current place valued so as to meet the 80% loan criteria. All a bit of a hassle but should work itself out in the end. The ANZ will find itself one customer down shortly though.

Other than that not a lot new really. Cryptography exam tomorrow which will be a bundle of fun.

Family life is great. Siobhan is growing like a weed and really starting to develop her own personality. I can't wait for her to start crawling about. Life will get intersting then that's for sure!

Just called Anthony in the UK to have a chat to him before his big wedding day. I really wish i could be there but sadly things are just a bit tight cash wise at the moment :(

Oh well.. better go and get some sleep so I can do well in my exam

Been a while
Hmm.. long time betweens posts. I guess it's a good thing nobody actually reads these things anyway :)

Been quite a stressful couple of months at work with the merger of our unit with IT. But if I look at it from a distance it can only mean good things for me personally...

It's either going to mean that I will get a chance to be one of the strategic architects which would be an interesting role that should pay a bit better or I will have a planners role which should still be fairly interesting but pay a bit less.

If I don't get the strategic architect role then I'll have a year to find something else to do before I face the drop in pay.

Well Siobhan is growing bigger all the time and has started showing signs of wanting to crawl. I think she will be mobile by the end of this month.

Other than that the idea of buying a new house has snuck into our minds. Can't see it being a reality but it's free to go to open homes :)

I'll try and write updates in this blog a bit more often.

Weird Weather
Well the weather today is nice and sunny as it should be but the last couple of days have been windy and wet. It's hard to tell it's summer really.
Siobhan is getting bigger every day. It's starting to become apparent that commuting for nearly 3 hours a day is not conducive to a good family life. I'm thinking about getting a job in a smaller town so I can be home more. I really don't want to move into Wellington.
Our poor old camera died but our new one is much flasher and a lot smaller so easier to carry around. Expect the flood of baby pictures to continue. :)

New Camera
Well after 3 years of faithful service my digital camera has finally given up the ghost. :(
I've ordered a replacement camera, the Sony DSCP10, which is 5 megapixel, rather than 2, about 1/4 of the size, all-round flasher and more trendy, and about 1/2 the price I paid for the previous camera.
Hopefully this one will last a bit longer than the last puppy. :)
It'll be nice to get back into taking a zillion baby photos (must have been that overuse that killed the last one).
And hopefully by this weekend I'll have finished off the first Siobhan baby DVD :)

Screaming baby
Oh dear.. someone is packing a tantrum when they get put in bed. :(
At first we thought it was teething but it's just someone being grumpy and wanting to be with mummy all the time.
Tonight is the first night of our 'controlled crying' attempt.
Other than that very little has happened since my last post...

Nearly Xmas
Well it's getting close to Xmas.. thankfully.
Work is interesting at the moment. I'm on the committee organising a big restructure/merger with IT. I think it's going pretty well but the devil is in the detail.
We've got our deck finished off thnaks to my brother and father. Good work guys!
And Siobhan is getting bigger every day. She's started solids, well we put solids in her mouth and she dribbles them down her chin :) And she has a nicecold as well.

Yawn
It's 12:30am and I can't sleep :( Today was spent building a deck at the back of the house with my dad. I've got tomorrow off (yay!) so we should finish it up.
Not a lot exciting has happened this week. I went to the world premiere of the last Lord of the Rings movie.. well I didn't actualy get to see the film but I did watch the parade go by (along with 119,999 other people). It was pretty cool.

Tired
Well after 2 late nights I needed a sleep today. I don't normally nap but today I went for a sleep at 2pm and woke up at 6pm... Wednesday night was a work dinner to celebrate winning an innovation award and Thursday was a computer game industry workshop.

Current reading is "Chris Crawford on Game Design". This guy really nows what he's talking about. I wish a few more game companies would make it compulsory for their staff to read these books.

Siobhan is now about 7.5kg. I've just done a bottle feed during the first half of the rugby world cup... The poms are winning... I'm glad I didn't go and put $100 on Aussie to win like I was planning! I am so crap at sports betting...
